If you are like most people then you have a task list that grows. Aren't we, however, supposed to get things done and, therefore, expect the task list to grow smaller rather than larger.
After all, at some point we are suppose to finish the project of our lives. Think of it this way, if we knew we only had 6 months to live how would we behave? We pretty much would know the things we want to do. Suppose it was 1 year. Then too we would keep a fininte set of things to do. Then how come for a linear relationship between time and tasks, it becomes exponential relationship ? I guess the only way it is possible is if for some reason we loose a sense of time.
It is about setting goals that are SMART. Some of us know about this but most need reminding. SMART goals are Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Realistic, and Timely. Peter Drucker is often credited with popularizing this concept within his seminal work on management by objective.
